👚 Plastic fibres from clothing are one of the largest elements of ocean microplastic - one that almost none of us know we are contributing to. We can lessen this pollution simply by washing our clothing slower and cooler, and by choosing natural fibres instead. #TheFlipperEffect
This week, we were visited by @thelumineers before their #CapeTown concert, to meet Bob, our ultimate #turtle ambassador. Bob is currently in an eight-year recovery after he was rescued because of harm he sustained when he ate plastic pollution.🐢
🌊 Grade 4s from the Holy Cross Sisters’ School Bellville explored Mouille Point on Wednesday with our Education team. Students learned that kelp can grow a centimetre per day, and a spiny sea star stole the show. #mouillepoint#capetown#rockyshore
Did you know that today is #WorldOceanDay (Southern Hemisphere edition)!?
It's a great time of year to celebrate our beautiful, bountiful ocean - an ocean that connects us all. So, be sure to connect with #SouthAfrica's world of water! 🌊
Our consumption behaviour is hurting marine life – we buy, we use, we throw away. Billions of tons of waste are generated and are harming the wildlife we love and depend on - like Bob the turtle! 👎
But, it doesn't need to be this way: aquarium.co.za/blog/entry/tim…#theflippereffect

When Bob returns to the ocean, we will no longer be able to protect him from the human-made hazards that resulted in his need for rehabilitation - so, it is up to all of us to make a difference. We need to protect Bob's home. 🐢 #TheFlipperEffect#ProtectBobsHome
Contributing to cleaner oceans starts with the decisions you make in your daily life. 💪 Remember – it doesn’t cost a cent to consider our product choices and a small lifestyle decision that can help save our oceans and marine life 💙 #TheFlipperEffect#ProtectBobsHome
This stranded green turtle was rescued by the public in #Arniston and has just arrived at our Turtle Conservation Centre. Rescuers provided clear info about the #turtle, so we were ready its arrival. Call 083 300 1663 for any turtle rescue assistance in the #WesternCape.
What's better than gifting someone a Two Oceans Aquarium ticket? Giving them an entire year of unlimited Aquarium visits!🦈🐟🐡
Here's why an annual membership is a perfect gift for any Cape Town ocean-lover: aquarium.co.za/blog/entry/unl…
🐢 Bob is a special turtle, and soon he'll be returning to his ocean home. Help #ProtectBobsHome by making smart decisions with the plastic packaging you encounter during the festive season - recycle or avoid as much as possible!
Waddle you be getting up to this weekend? 🐧
P.S. Ask our team about a Penguin Experience if you'd like to bet up close and personal with these too-cute rockhopper #penguins.
