My top 15 players of oat updated, (criteria: prime, peak, longevity, portability, playoffs, resilience, playoffs): 1. Bron 2. MJ 3. Kareem 4. Bill Russell 5. Shaq 6. Hakeem 7. Wilt 8. Duncan 9. KG 10. Kobe 11. Magic 12. Curry 13. Bird 14. KD 15. Oscar Robertson
@Sageof6turtles Based on your criteria, wouldn't MJ be above LeBron? Prime/Peak go MJ, so do playoffs and resiliance. Not sure what portability means
@A1Hoopz @Sageof6turtles Bron isn’t far off from in those areas but he’s very far ahead in longevity at this point
@Loris_731 @Sageof6turtles But MJ being ahead in the other 4 to makes him the clear goat.
@A1Hoopz @Sageof6turtles Don’t you see how that’s a silly way to look at it though? Playoffs and resiliency are not only basically the same thing but also are part of your evaluation of their peak/prime and quality of play. If you just go by how good they were when they played and how long they played…
@A1Hoopz @Sageof6turtles You have to have a CRAZY weighting of peak over longevity to put Jordan over LeBron at this point, even if you think Jordan was significantly better than Bron. I found myself in this very position actually. Give each season a valuation that factors in resiliency and go from there
@Loris_731 @Sageof6turtles Tbh I don't weigh longevity as much as peak. Peak (given that it lasted a significant amount of time) means the level you were able to achieve. MJ was able to achieve a high level of 🏀 than Bron. Bron just sustained his level longer than anyone
@A1Hoopz @Sageof6turtles I understand valuing peak very highly (i do too) but at a certain point you kinda have to use longevity. Being the best means providing the most value to help a team win and those extra seasons provide a lot of championship value for a career
