Democrats at the highest ranks are framing abortion rights as a matter of freedom, co-opting traditionally conservative rhetoric in an appeal to a broad swath of the electorate this fall. apnews.com/article/aborti…
@AP Abortion should not be a "political" issue in a country that claims to respect personal and religious freedoms. Abortion rights is really a matter of Republicans abandoning freedoms and that American people.
@AP Abortions & Trump are all they have to run on. They have failed on all meaningful policies. As it stands I doubt they even have a stand on abortion that most Americans support. I doubt most Americans support aborting a baby up to 9 months
@AP Because as we all know…The first AntiAmerican president in history said, “elections have consequences and I won.” But failed to remind everyone that..this of course doesn’t pertain to antiAmerican @TheDemocrats ✊🏿🤪
@AP Abortion ought to be an individual right championed by the Right. Small govt etc. The Right’s anti abortion stance is a departure from their [claimed] core values, but then again they never make any effort at consistency.
@AP Co-opting? Since when did Republicans get exclusive use of the concept of freedom?
@AP Conservatives don’t want freedom. They want fascism.
@AP Hasn't it always been "framed" as a matter of freedom, though? That's kind of why we use the word "rights."
@AP "Traditionally conservative rhetoric."
