Well this will certainly get talked about tomorrow. Ryan Poles thought there was a scenario in which he could trade back to 2 and then to 9. But that would have meant waiting, and once the Panthers offered DJ Moore, he pulled the trigger. 👇

@AdamHoge This will be talked about when Houston and Carolina end up in the top 5 in the 2024 draft. Poles chose poorly. He should've traded down with Houston and exercised prolonged patience with Carolina.
@AdamHoge Should have accumulated picks from Houston & sat tight till draft night
@AdamHoge Poles played it perfectly. DJ Moore is a known commodity with great success.
@AdamHoge Just read it. Cool that he actually gives insight on the process.
@AdamHoge Getting DJ Moore was the correct move IMO. Like others have said they had to put talent around Fields to see if he’s the guy or not. The WR corp looks a lot better now
@AdamHoge the longer the negotiations dragged out, CAR could have sought a cheaper deal w/ ARZ at #3 or something else. An A deal is better than a theoretical A+ deal.
@AdamHoge Can't live on what ifs .. could have gotten 2 but then Panthers might have pulled Moore .. I would be happy with what Poles got. Houston had their own leverage since they didn't have to trade at all
@AdamHoge trade was graded an A+ when it was made. If we got an additional first I doubt we would have gotten Moore. Car won’t give up the same haul to move from 9-2, and you’re telling me the Texans we’re going to give up two firsts to move to 1? I don’t care about extra 5th or 6ths
@AdamHoge While I'm not unhappy with the Bears getting Moore, I've felt from the very moment that the trade was announced that he pulled the trigger way too soon. It just feels like he could've gotten more had he not wanted to get it done before free agency.
