The Voice will be about recognition, and it will be about listening.
At tonight’s Lowitja O’Donoghue Oration in Adelaide, I spoke about how Australians will have the chance to vote Yes to the future we seek to build. Lowitja O’Donoghue was driven by her faith in the Australian people and their instinct for a fair go.
@AlboMP I think it’s perfectly reasonable to provide indigenous Australians with a body to capture and represent their views to government…. I really don’t understand why so many people feel threatened by it. It will be a sad indictment on our nation if the referendum fails.
@AlboMP So it is a token gesture, just like if you ever want to #FreeAssangeNOW it is more an expressed idea as opposed to actual action. Meanwhile, as an adopted South Korean who did not want medical treatment, I felt more Isolation and exclusion from society did anyone listen then.
@AlboMP Hi @AlboMP In case you missed it, here's a reminder of the 1967 Referendum which gave Aboriginal & TSI people recognition & rights in the Australian Constitution. 🇦🇺 #VoteNoAustralia
@AlboMP This thing is feeling more and more like an Ultimatum rather than a Referendum. Somethings up.
@AlboMP We are tired of listening because no matter how much we do for Aboriginals they are never satisfied, it will never be enough. #VoteNo x.com/joeldavisx/sta…
