That every professional involved was at best insanely negligent is true no matter what else is true- and that is wild as hell. I'm totally open to "he's got people for that" but holy hell- ALL OF THEM dropped the ball? Ohtani needs to clean slate his team.
I don't doubt that Mizuhara pulled off this scam on his "friend" Ohtani. I just can't get past how he fooled/scammed all the professionals involved with Ohtani: agents, attorneys, accountants, bankers, etc. There were a lot of guardrail people in place to supposedly protect him.
Is there an accounting/auditing firm that specializes in finding fraud/embezzlement/shady dealings for high earning individuals (athletes, entertainers, etc)? You would think there would be a market opening for flat-fee niche audits for that.
