Today's beta release of @AzumFpg's Nintendo64 core on #MiSTerFPGA includes a fix for Shiren the Wanderer 2 that finally allows for proper save support in the game! Can finally play the English fan-translation! - romhacking.net/translations/6… @MDFW_EN
I'm working on a optional HDMI output mode in the #MiSTerFPGA N64 core that allows to display 480i games in full 480p/60Hz. No more combining artifacts and no deinterlacer required.
Fixed 2 CPU bugs in the #MiSTerFPGA N64 core. This stops the NEON64 NES emulator from crashing on the core. Not that this would be the best way to play NES games, but it revealed 2 bugs which could also hit other games, so it was very valueable.

Title and menu screens in Factor 5 titles are now working correct on the #MiSTerFPGA N64 core.
I worked the last days on fixing some edge case FPU bug in the #MiSTerFPGA N64 core. There is an article on my patreon if you are interested in more technical details about the core development and researching such details.
Another round of RDP bugfixes, improving the visuals in Carmageddon and Gauntlet(jp). Nearly all known render issues have been fixed in the last weeks for the #MiSTerFPGA N64 core.
Special effects in Killer Instinct Gold are fixed now for the #MiSTerFPGA N64 core. Another case of a game using RDP features that no other game seems to use.
Another rendering fix for the #MiSTerFPGA N64 core: Multiple YUV edge case issues have been solved. So far usage of those special RDP functions have only been seen in Vigilante 8 - 2nd Offense, but it's possible they also appear in other games.
Some games use texture modes that are useless and probably only made it to the final game because it somehow still works and no one noticed it. For example Clayfighters initial Interplay logo. In any case, we have to support them in the #MiSTerFPGA N64 core, so it's working now.
More render bugs fixed in the #MiSTerFPGA N64 core. Today: texture loading edge case handled. This improves for example the sky in V-Rally 99.
More render bugs fixed in the #MiSTerFPGA N64 core. Today: Tonic Trouble backgrounds are no longer looking like shipping containers.
Fixed the flame rendering in Paper Mario on the #MiSTerFPGA N64 core. Flames depend on 2 very rarely used RDP features: - 8 bit framebuffers reading back pixels as grayscale, creating the shape of the flame - color combiner overflowing into negative. This creates the glow effect
With YUV textures being supported now by the #MiSTerFPGA N64 core, the last big RDP feature is finally implemented.
Fixed a RSP bug in the #MiSTerFPGA N64 core that resulted in random polygons missing in many games. As it was often only one polygon every few minutes, I'm really happy I found it. Have fun!

Fixed texture glitches in the #MiSTerFPGA N64 core that occured in several games. For example: Blast Corps, Beetle Adventure Racing, F1 Pole Position 64 or Top Gear Overdrive
Level of detail textures are now available in the #MiSTerFPGA N64 core. One popular use is the Peach painting in Mario64. Several other games profit from sharper textures close to the camera or less flickering pixels on distant textures.
Same scene rendered in the VHDL simulation of the #MiSTerFPGA N64 core without and with LOD textures. Next step: modify the RDP pipeline so the LOD module has a timeslot to be calculated. A test core should be ready in the next days.

Big shout out to @AzumFpg for the latest N64 core fixing this issue I found in the dithering implementation. Basically on the Mister Core it was about 2X stronger/more noisy when compared to OG hardware. Crazy fast turn around, thank you so much! @MiSTerFPGABot
