Omicron exacerbates chronic illnesses such as CVD, CKD, COPD, cancer etc. In cardiology, we have seen increased heart attacks in those with COVID-19 that can present weeks later. So, let’s stop with incidental COVID-19 narrative already.
Also, the incidental narrative ignores why we’re seeing a surge in hospitalizations. Patients with congestive heart failure, asthma attacks, acute kidney failure etc. that test positive are likely there due to omicron, which causes COVID-19 an inflammatory disease.
Wow...this tweet has gone Omicron (aka viral) 🦠
@BAshbyMD We need to refuse to accept the “everyone will eventually get COVID so we might as well just get Omicron because it’s mild” narrative. I have kept my family and myself safe for 2-years and I am not stopping now. #GetVaccinatedNow #WearAMask #N95 #StayHome
@BAshbyMD Thanks for sharing this information.. A lot of people keep saying that omicron is "mild"... This variant is very dangerous 🙏
@BAshbyMD And please medically define “mild”. I was sick sick. I’m back vaccinated and very healthy. It attacks every vulnerable spot. If u stubbed ur toe in 5th grade that sucker will S W E L L Any ailment even minimal reacts.
@BAshbyMD My sister in law had COVID two weeks ago. She had a stroke 2 days ago. No co-morbidities. Her COVID was very “mild”. Her dr said that he sees this everyday now.
@BAshbyMD @Harvard2H If CDC was doing their job we would have data showing diff in various groups, vaxed, how many vaxes, unvaxed, obese, vitamin deficiencies, age, you name it, we would have a breakdown of various things that contribute to varying outcomes, but instead, we have chaos and confusion.
@BAshbyMD Agreed. Since we can’t prevent infection - how about we MD’s all demand early treatment. MAB’s are nowhere to be found!! Stopping this virus early - during replication - may prevent the vascular component as well as the cytokine component.
