Researchers at NYU have connected a pig’s kidney to a human body that was being kept alive on a ventilator. Scientists don’t know the long-term effects, but they say using animal organs could help relieve the long-running shortage of human organs for transplant.

@CBSMornings They tried this back in the 80s and 90s, except I think they were using their hearts. What ever happened to that study.
@CBSMornings The idea of keeping a "body" alive on a ventilator so they can experiment and attach animal organs seems cold, unethical, horrific. My mind likens it to Nazi experiments. The end doesn't always justify the means.
