The deadline is fast approaching to apply for the Canada Housing Benefit Top-Up.
@CMHC_ca I'm a senior on a low income bracket yet did not qualify. $800 over the threshold I was informed. Doesn't take in the fact, the real poorness of my state. I was counting on this to aid that but now unable.
@philles100 The one-time top-up to the CHB is aimed at those experiencing housing affordability challenges – those most impacted by inflation. Renter households are four times more likely to experience core housing needs than homeowners, based on current available data.
@CMHC_ca @philles100 "renter households are 4 times more likely to experience core housing needs than homeowners" where did you get the data? my property tax has doubled in 7 years, refinanced and payments are now $280 more a month. strata fees are $400/month where I am. 200k mortgage.not fancy
@CMHC_ca @philles100 nothing is considered. a 3bdrm townhouse in suburbs of vancouver rents for over 3000/month. A family with young children, mom at home, if dad makes $35/hr hes bringing home about 4k month. car insurance/food/gas/life it makes no sense how things are now
