@CMerandi Having just had neck surgery this winter- I saw that it was important that the entire medical staff was on-board with managing post op pain with opiates. Everyone involved with my care post-op was quite invested with treating my pain. You need to hospital shop too!

There’s one solution to the untreated pain epidemic: rescue clinics that staff medication management providers. Of course, these providers would need immunity from the DEA/state medical boards so they could safely prescribe full agonist opioids

A friend just got a letter from @UHC . (One of those letters that are sent to warn about the supposed dangers of opioids). IF UHC CARES SO MUCH, why don’t they send letter to Doc stating that THE PAIN PATIENT NEEDS MORE OPIOID MEDS TO COVER HER/HIS PAIN. @CMerandi @DanLairdMD
@FiveOhFour @blu_noz_pitbull @CMerandi Not about trusting u! Just saying it won't fix my immediate issue. Also, they want us to go to pain mgmt. for treatments that aren't even FDA approved rather than fill an Rx that has safely improved my QOL for years.

She's not too happy about the pharmacist's actions & is prepared to help for next month. It's difficult to find a pharmacy who has the meds tho.

@CMerandi It’s so strange, I know doctors who still prescribe and those who absolutely refuse.
@CMerandi When drug dealers would appear to care more than medical professionals, our system is a joke.
@mollydevon @CMerandi On the other hand, I wonder at selling something that has a high fatality rate. It seems like a bad business model.
@CMerandi I see Dr of Osteopathic medicine that specializes in sports and rehabilitation management. I get pain meds, I have interventional procedures when I think they will help and I go to PT when I think it's necessary. It's true Dr/Patient therapeutic relationship.
@CMerandi This was posted on EM Reddit board. The drs thought it was a joke & when they found it to be real, they were just awful, saying pts can wait 9 hours for a Tylenol or how it’s not a human right & how they wanted the clinic named & shamed. They care zero for us.
@CMerandi I’m in Pain Management with an anesthesiologist and couldn’t be happier. My Primary doesn’t prescribe narcotics.
@CMerandi Having just had neck surgery this winter- I saw that it was important that the entire medical staff was on-board with managing post op pain with opiates. Everyone involved with my care post-op was quite invested with treating my pain. You need to hospital shop too!

@blu_noz_pitbull @CMerandi I had injections in my neck & it was the worst thing, too. A pharmacist is telling me she won't fill my RX from MD again until I go to pain management! Apparently, CURES has an alert out becuz I've been on meds for awhile. No more injections 4 me!
@MusicArtsPromo @CMerandi I've had 4 injections and it never helped at all. I guess I'm lucky it didn't mess me up even worse. I'm SO sorry that they're abusing you like this. It's so f'kd up. 🫂💞🙏
