It’s really the amount of convoluted plots/events, and incessant reboots. Weather people like it or not its a lot cheaper, easier and more varied to simply read manga They may look cool but i like understanding the grand plot of the stories i read

That one time they gave catwoman to comics genius Ed Brubaker & Darwyn Cooke and her book is so good it’s one of the best comics dc got and the funny thing is Brubaker’s run also fell apart at the end due to editorial lol. Why do they keep holding back on such an iconic character

I love that they take it even further in Batman Returns, where Keaton's Bruce sits in stasis until the ghostly light of the signal falls upon him. Then, after undergoing the symbolic death of stepping inside the iron maiden that leads to the Batcave, he's finally born again.
The main reason I like Michael Keaton's Batman so much (and why I'm starting to dig Pattinson's) is that he's a legitimately weird dude with no grasp of what a normal life is. Like could you imagine Keaton Batman making himself a grilled cheese sandwich without help? It's great.

... What are you talking about? • Predator: The guerrilla the commandos capture exposits about the nature of the hunter through local folklore. • Terminator: Kyle Reese spends 15min explaining to Sarah Connor just the entire metaplot (bad future, Skynet, John Connor, etc).
What I love about movies from the 70s/80s is they don't spend loads of time on exposition. The Predator simply shows up, as does The Terminator. In Back to the Future time travel happens via the Flux Capacitor, thats it! And the Alien is already on LV-426. Perfection.🤌

Not entirely related, but semi-apropos, the Three Ghosts of Batman arc went harder on ACAB Gotham than any other comic or arc I can think of. Just nailed it down how awful fucked up and meant to be that is not a flaw it is the system Gotham PD is.
