Correct. Dusty Baker did the same thing last season and throughout his tenure. They need to come up with a new company line other than "back of the baseball card," but if you're sitting here waiting on public reprimands or criticisms, you're going to be upset.

I'm not sure why this is causing uproar. The other three optionable relievers are Bryan Abreu, Seth Martinez — who has entered the circle of trust — and Shawn Dubin, who is throwing the ball well. Whitley had three total outings in AAA. He needs to get more relief experience.
