Republican Senators keep reciting the part of the Constitution that says states set voting rules but they stop reading the clause halfway through so they don’t have to say the second half: “but the Congress may at any time by Law make or alter such Regulations”. Just amazing.
@ChrisMurphyCT Just like they leave out the “well-regulated” part out of the 2nd Amendment.
@ChrisMurphyCT I do not believe every state should have different voting rights and rules for Federal office elections. All citizens across the country should be treated consistently fair for elections of all kinds, really. Why can Texas treat citizens worse than California's or New York's?
@ChrisMurphyCT It's like that 'well regulated militia' clause that 'originalists' just ignore.
@ChrisMurphyCT @sampson_elaine The trouble is that with Fox News, and their other media outlets, this is all they need to say. There will be no questioning in that fully insulated misinformation ecosystem
@ChrisMurphyCT Don't think a good idea, voting rights as a distraction with so much other stuff as priority, a red herring?
@ChrisMurphyCT @MuellerSheWrote They’re out of context. They’re out of order. It’s an ongoing coup.
@ChrisMurphyCT @StopAgitprop Lips get tired from reading too many syllables in a row.
@ChrisMurphyCT @newsthyme Who could have.imagined that the GOP would misrepresent anything to the American people?
@ChrisMurphyCT The same R Sens that excerpt MLK to suit their needs?
@ChrisMurphyCT Chris you’re saying with no constitutional amendment?
