What do people think about drafting a letter of recommendation/support for the mentor/collaborator who’s suppose to write it? >>

I think it’s a waste of time and a disservice to the applicant when the applicant is still not experienced enough to know what to put in such a letter. >>
@tamar_sofer Totally agree. A great sign of a poor mentor. It’s one thing to ask if the applicant wants something highlighted. It’s wholly another to ask that the applicant wrote it. You can tell the difference as a reviewer.. One is personal and the other simply recites the CV.
