I guess Scott Pilgrim is trending once again because people think it's a hot take to say he's a bad person. But that's literally the whole point. Ramona is a bad person too. But they are perfect for each other because they make each other better people. It's great.
The series is about our past lives, regrets, growing up and trying to do better. And it's about how each relationship in our lives shapes us. You can know Scott is a bad person and still be enthralled by the story and his character arc. It teaches a nice lesson.
@ChronoKatie Ok I haven’t read the comic but I’ve watched the movie. I don’t think they portray Ramona as a bad person, but they definitely portrayed Scott as a bad person. Either I am missing something or they may have cut a lot about Ramona….which either is possible.
@ChronoKatie Eventually Scott became a man as the story continued, especially in the last volume where he has to confront his evil self.
@ChronoKatie Character development baby! It's back in style!
@ChronoKatie The worst new take on media is that main characters with inherently bad flaws is bad storytelling. Scott Pilgrim and Evan Hansen both come to mind for this. Not every main character in every story should be emulated. We need those Icarus or Jonah type characters to exist as well.
