Depression takes many forms and can range greatly in severeness. Some people can't get out of bed while others appear fine to the outside world. Check on your "strong" friends because functional depression is real.

Has a social network but still feels down. Difficulty focusing or making decisions. Performs well but never feels like it’s good enough.
Attends social events and activities but doesn’t engage with anyone. Shows up for work and activities but lacked energy to get through the day. Changes in appetite or sleep habits.
