@DocOnDev Agile is a small idea for helping small teams build small projects. You can’t ruin that. You can sure mess up a project by calling it something it’s not though.

@DocOnDev IMHO: companies putting SCRUM in waterfall organisations and wondering that 'Agile' doesn't work.
@DocOnDev Are you sure? I run into people misusing User Stories, Spikes, Story Points, etc. and none of that is in Scrum. I don't blame XP. I'd say "copying without knowledge" ruined agile.
@DocOnDev I think the people who are doing it (wrong) have ruined Agile.
@DocOnDev My guess is that either your team never held a retrospective or never acted on the incremental improvements discussed therein.

@DocOnDev "Agile Software Development" was always a marketing/branding compromise
