And so it begins. Australian woman. Traveling to Canada. Loose fitting dress. Layover in US. Border officials detain her, ask at least twice if she's pregnant and 'Have you recently had an abortion?' Visa denied. Sent back to Australia. Why was she interrogated about an abortion?
Article here. It says she was sent back to Australia for other reasons. But why was she questioned about pregnancy and abortion? theguardian.com/australia-news…
@DonLew87 What? There’s got to be more to this story. It says she went through LA. California doesn’t have any issue with abortions to begin with. I assumed she’d be going through Texas or something
@DonLew87 She entered legally, her mistake. If she entered illegally via our Southern border her pregnancy status would be of no concern unless a request for some assistance was present. Then she could travel as she pleased, just disregard the court summons as most do.
@DonLew87 If you’re getting a job you need a visa. She was getting a job and did not have a visa.
@DonLew87 Right? What purpose would this even have? Are there people working there that aren't understanding laws? This was going to be a problem going forward and this is an example
@DonLew87 Can’t even change planes in the US.
@DonLew87 This article is very misleading She was probably turned around because she couldn’t provide proof she was continuing on to Canada Pregnant foreign women stop in California to give birth, so their child have US citizenship
@DonLew87 What baffles me is this question being asked at all! No One is coming here for that!
@DonLew87 Okay the abortion question was off base but they were denying her bc they were thinking she was looking to get into Canada
