After seeing more and more unvaccinated COVID19 patients coming to the ER and having to be admitted to beds that are miles away and hours away from being available, I get more and more pissed at the offensive display of anti-science and anti-Semitism in DC yesterday. 1/9
And today, @SenRonJohnson held a "hearing" with some of the same anti-vaxxers who spoke at the rally, and whose disinformation has led to hundreds of thousands of unnecessary deaths since the vaccines became available over a year ago. 2/9
One of those deaths was a patient in their 40s who refused the vaccine because they were told it could kill them. Guess what, the virus killed them despite every effort to save their life. And the staff that cared for them for weeks is still reeling at such a tragic death. 3/9
Another was a patient of my wife who she begged to get vaccinated over the last year. They thought the vaccines were about control. They discarded the brochure presented to them at their visit. They died this weekend from COVID19. She carries that death with her. 4/9
That these disseminators of disinformation liken their movement to that of the late Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. who fought for civil rights and voting rights for a people oppressed in this nation for over 300 years is an affront to his legacy and the ongoing struggle. 5/9
Their assertion that vaccine mandates to prevent death, allow hospitals to treat entire communities, and protect those around them are "worse than" the Holocaust disgraces the memory of the 6 million Jews and 5 million non-Jews murdered by Nazi Germany. 6/9
So sitting by and listening to them bitch and moan about their freedoms and their voices being cancelled is more than I can take. We must flip the script and go on the offensive against their litany of lies. 7/9
We must go after the source of these lies be they media outlets like @FoxNews or elected officials like @SenRonJohnson, @RonDeSantisFL, or @RandPaul both legally and financially. 8/9
And we must respond to their protests with more mandates, and more requirements of vaccination in order to participate with the rest of us in everyday life. /END
