These are the last lines of the last speech ever typed for President Kennedy, intended for remarks on November 22, 1963 at the Democratic State Committee in Austin, Texas.

VRA was passed 58 years ago. Since then cases have been brought by private parties. Without controversy
Judges on the 8th Circuit have now “discovered” an apparently long lost basis to prohibit such suits. SMH

Rosalynn Carter was a great partner to a consequential President and helped to define the modern role of First Lady. She was gracious, warm - and determined.
My thoughts are with the entire Carter family and especially with the President.
Last week, we witnessed Ohioans (for the second time this year) send clear messages at the ballot box:
They reject attempts to weaken democracy
They want to protect their voting rights and reproductive rights when politicians - elected on gerrymandered maps - refuse to do so
Each one of these recent wins for fair maps in Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, Florida is a win for a more representative democracy. It is a win for voters.
Our movement has been fighting for fairness state by state—we are playing the righteous, long game.
Democrats have won BOTH houses of the General Assembly
This is another victory for the protection of both our democracy and our most basic freedoms. It’s a function of fairer maps and a resounding rejection of the extremism of Virginia Republicans and their leadership
Very significant victory in Virginia.
As a result of the more fairly drawn maps, great candidates and sound policy positions Democrats will hold the Senate.
A win for Democracy Defenders and a rejection of the extremist ideology and obfuscation of the Governor and his party. twitter.com/Redistrict/sta…
Victory in Rhode Island.
Go @gabeamo! Congratulations to Gabe Amo for winning his race. A fierce Democracy Defender, he will be an excellent representative in Congress for the people of Rhode Island’s District 1. twitter.com/AP/status/1722…
If the very gerrymandered state legislature had its way, Republicans would have put in place a ban totally inconsistent with the desires of the people.
A concrete example of the pernicious effect of gerrymandering and why we have to fight to eliminate it. twitter.com/Redistrict/sta…
Virginia: get out there and do your part today.
Don’t let the MAGA Republicans roll back our progress or threaten our freedoms.
If you haven’t already, get out there and VOTE today! And tell your friends and family too. It matters. 🏽
If Virginia Republicans had it their way, they’d have voters believe that their proposed 15-week abortion ban is … “not a ban.”
Let’s protect reproductive rights by voting for pro-choice candidates! 👏🗳️
Under the leadership of election-denying Glenn Youngkin, 3400 Virginia voters were purged from the voter rolls just before next week’s critical election
Your vote is your voice and your voice is important
All of these voters must be reinstated now!
The races are going to be close—so we need every single eligible VIRGINIA voter to participate in this election
The progress we have made on reproductive rights, on voting rights, on gun safety, is all on the line
We have to DO democracy in order to protect democracy
The Virginia election is just about a week away. The choice is between democracy defenders who will protect Virginians’ freedoms—or MAGA extremist election deniers who will take them away.
At least three separate GOP Virginia legislative candidates were present on January 6th.
