I’ve never seen a single Sidney Poitier film which is sad. If there’s one Poitier movie I HAVE to watch, which one would you recommend?
@EricHolder @aarickawash I second this. The Heat of the Night.
@EricHolder @aarickawash Yes. Great movie. The tension between Sidney Poitier and Rod Stieger is palpable and flawless. Great cast, great movie.
@EricHolder @aarickawash Powerful. That movie made such a huge impression on me as a 9 year old kid. "Well, I don't think we're going to have any trouble, are we, Virgil?" That line has so much meaning. Mr. Poitier was a big part of my movie experience, thanks to my parents. I'm the better person for it.
@EricHolder @aarickawash Guess Who's Coming To Dinner. For Love Of Ivy and the night I watched Sidney, Harry and Richard Pryor on the Tonight Show with Bill Cosby filling in for Johnnie.
@EricHolder @aarickawash I think In the Heat of the Night is not only superbly acted but holds up better than many of his movies. Crying in all the right ways, if you know what I mean. And still VERY TIMELY.
