I don’t understand why my energy account is £1200+ in credit and they are telling me I need to increase my monthly payment. And I understand more about energy bills than a lot of people.
The good news is that if I want to talk to a helpful human, I can just sit on hold for 2 hours because, once again, they are experiencing ‘higher than normal call volumes’
@FelicityHannah Your account should always be in credit going into winter as they smooth payments over the year. They’ll be wanting more as unit costs are higher.
@FelicityHannah We are also in the same situation but isn’t this because you build up credit in the summer to cover the winter?
@FelicityHannah You don’t mention the supplier. I am with Octopus and, so far, they have not increased my DD. I am sure it will come but so far okay. My monthly statement shows the costs which helps me understand what is happening.
@FelicityHannah They only take money twice a year. So you will be in a lot of credit until they do.
