Q1 #ISE2023 rewind: Did you attend the show? if not why? Was the uncertainty of the economy a factor? What's the value to integrators in the US to attend? Is this the can't miss show for AV and/or EMEA? #AVInTheAM #AVtweeps
@chris_neto Yes I was there. It’s essential for me and I think representation for #HigherEdAV in the industry is important. #ISE2023 is well timed to plan for summer refresh and projects too #AVinTheAM
@G_Bagley @chris_neto Totally agree w/@G_Bagley here. #HigherEd needs to change mentality “& not see #ISE2023 as a “European show” but rather an opportunity to get in front of key vendors at an important time in our buying cycle. It’s a must attend for everyone, even from North America. #AVinTheAM
@JosiahWay @G_Bagley @chris_neto @JosiahWay how does Infocomm steer purchasing decisions for HigherEd based on the timing of the show? I can totally see the benefit of ISE for US based EDU clients. Never thought of that until you mentioned it.
@LainieMataras @G_Bagley @chris_neto 1/2 - Short answer, it doesn't have any direct impact. I can't see something at IC, go home, get a PO, have it shipped & installed before August start. And, I'm already half-way into my summer projects by then. I can do that w/ISE though.
@LainieMataras @G_Bagley @chris_neto 2/2 - Longer answer, most of our budgets are due Oct-Dec, so IC can serve as a lookahead for planning for the following year. Problem is that that gear will now already be 1 year old & SKU's might be different by then. IC is visionary; ISE is actionable.
@JosiahWay @G_Bagley @chris_neto That's an extremely insightful tweet. Thank you
@LainieMataras @JosiahWay @chris_neto And on the other hand, you can be at ISE and hear “August”or “September” as release date. Which is infuriating. They’re getting better at that though, this year the latest I heard for a new product was June
@G_Bagley @LainieMataras @chris_neto Yeah, I should have prefaced with "supply chain issues aside"... But we'll get back to normal at some point. This is only a temporary situation.
