Nebraska is one of just two states that has yet to provide choice to its families and children. Not every kid learns the same, and our children deserve to have the best education for them. Nebraska legislators, this is the year: put kids first and advance school choice.
Today, I declared January 23-29 School Choice Week in Nebraska. ICYMI, you can view the announcement here: facebook.com/GovernorPeteRi…
@GovRicketts School choice needs to apply to the families that one school. My wife & I decided to home school due to the state of OPS in the late 90s when we attended. We have paid taxes for 25+ years for a school system none of our 9 kids have ever or will ever use.
@GovRicketts If parents do not know they have choices of where to send their children for their education, then that is on them. I don't have kids and know this. Why don't you take the money that was spent on this "week of choice" and use it to invest in the state's public school system!!
@GovRicketts The public schools in Nebraska are among the best in the country. We need a Governor who works with schools not against them. His history of privatization of services is dismal at best.
