Nothing to see here, folks. Just the head of Twitter Marketing endorsing stealing art from anywhere, minting it, and passing it off as your own just to get a hexagon badge.
And if that's not what he meant to say, then I'd suggest a clean-up operation stat. Because 'you should be able to mint anything and make it your nft' sure as heck sounds like it to the casual observer.
Well this is popping off a little so: 1. Commission real artists to make real art. And always tip your artists! 2. Mask up, vax up 3. Check in on your friends/mutuals, even if you only talk rarely. An extra hello can literally save a life.
@GrandMoffJoseph BEFORE people could right click save an NFT and you won’t HAVE ANYWAY TO VERIFY if they stole the art. @twitter added the ability for you to VERIFY if the user has stolen the art by simply clicking on it to confirm what collections it’s from. THIS IS A GREAT FIRST STEP.
@GrandMoffJoseph what exactly makes an nft verified? Is that a proprietary add-on feature of opensea or?
@GrandMoffJoseph Kinda sorta feel like saying the head of Twitter marketing is "endorsing stealing art from anywhere" is a pretty disingenuous portrayal of what he actually meant. But, hey, if riling people up is what you're going for, then why not?
@GrandMoffJoseph tbh verification doesn't mean much, NFT marketplaces have verified projects that use stolen art before
@GrandMoffJoseph Also endorsing NFTs, which is even more morally reprehensible.
@GrandMoffJoseph And you can see people are already minting other people's art just to get the hexagon x.com/nfttheft/statu…

@GrandMoffJoseph the blockchain only honor OpenSea is decentralized verified NFTs
@GrandMoffJoseph Without art theft, 99.999% of NFTs would vanish.
