There is no such thing as “a sick note culture.” There is a record high NHS waiting list, crippling housing costs, widespread food poverty, stagnant wages and inadequate benefit rates, a broken social care system, dire mental health services, and closed Sure Start centres.
What Rishi's done today is declare sick and disabled people the enemy of working people. All the attacks we already receive in the media and every day life are only going to rise and the government are sanctioning it

Surely no coincidence that this speech by @RishiSunak on a supposed 'sicknote culture' comes as a hugely critical report by the UN committee on the rights of persons with disabilities about DWP's ongoing breaches of the UN disability convention is expected to drop any day now.

As someone that had to go to 3 tribunals to get disability benefits (I use a powerchair full time) I'd like to tell @RishiSunak it is not too easy to get benefits. It is a cruel & harsh system. Perhaps the rise in people unable to work is due to the huge waiting list for the NHS?

As someone that had to go to 3 tribunals to get disability benefits (I use a powerchair full time) I'd like to tell @RishiSunak it is not too easy to get benefits. It is a cruel & harsh system. Perhaps the rise in people unable to work is due to the huge waiting list for the NHS?
