NEW: Resolution to provide for consideration of the report finding Stephen K. Bannon in contempt of Congress passes House Rules Committee. It now goes to the House floor for a vote.
@January6thCmte @frankdugan Inherent contempt until he testifies
@January6thCmte This is nuts. In my world if i don’t show up for a subpoena they come and arrest me. Why the different rules for Bannon and the other insurrectionists?
@January6thCmte Why is it a “Constitutional Crisis”? Because voting on the matters before the J6C are those whose actions in the build to J6 events are demonstratively aligned to the former Executive’s subversion effort. Validity/Invalidity
@January6thCmte I get this feeling if it were me, I’d already be in jail! I don’t know why it takes so long when it comes to these people
@January6thCmte Instead of holding a vote to refer Steve Bannon for criminal contempt hold a vote to give BLANKET authorization to the Select Committee to refer ANY witness for criminal contempt. Let the witnesses KNOW you mean business by speeding up the process. You're gonna have a few.
@January6thCmte To the impatient: hold the line. The hammers need to strike in order, the case be made watertight, or the conspirators will weasel out of accountability.
@January6thCmte Good to see a little progress, baby steps in the right direction. Now #SubpoenaFlynn
@January6thCmte Wake us when you actually get Bannon to testify or put him in jail. This super slow motion action is embarrassing
