I joined the Uxbridge-Scott Historical Society & Uxbridge Fire Association to announce our government’s support of over $200k for the construction of the Firefighter Memorial Statue & Garden, a community focal point to reflect on the sacrifice firefighters make every day.
Every year the Uxbridge Secondary School’s Remembrance Day service is incredibly inspiring and special. To the student organizers, teachers, and administrators who organized the event, thank you for honouring our veterans in such a meaningful way.

The current rise in antisemitism in Canada is abhorrent, alarming, and unacceptable. Yesterday, I spoke about that with @DeborahLyonsSE, Canada’s new Special Envoy on Preserving Holocaust Remembrance and Combatting Antisemitism – we’ll keep working together to combat this hate.
We can get things done in this place. Big things. Alexandre Boulerice and I proved that today.
Quietly and constructively, for months, we’ve worked together, behind-the-scenes, on a big thing, and today, we tabled it: a ban on replacement workers.

Program are open. We have seen an increase in hate-motivated crimes & we are responding with a $5 mil investment to help strengthen the security of community centres, places of worship & other institutions.
The reports of overnight shootings at Jewish schools in Montreal are horrifying. I condemn these violent acts of antisemitism in the strongest terms possible – and I want to be clear: This hate has no place in Canada, and we must all stand united against it.
This year is the 85th year since Kristallnacht or the Night of Broken Glass, where Nazis attacked Jewish owned businesses, Jewish homes, cemeteries and synagogues in Germany & Austria. Now more than ever, we need to stand up against antisemitism and pledge #NeverAgain.
On #IndigenousVeteransDay we honour the more than 12,000 First Nations, Inuit, and Métis who proudly served and made the ultimate sacrifice. We are committed to supporting Indigenous Veterans as we continue towards truth and reconciliation. Lest we forget.
