Kyrie Irving is extremely generous: · Bought George Floyd's mom a house · Paid tuition for 9 HBCU students · Bought 200+ kids Christmas presents · Provided 250k Thanksgiving meals in NYC · Donated $1.5M to WNBA players It's sad to see him called selfish for a personal decision.
1) I understand that he plays a team sport and ultimately hurts their chance at success by not being there. But it's also ok to believe that the vaccine is helpful, yet that everyone can still make their own decision. Just because you disagree, it doesn't make them selfish.
@JoePompliano In WW2, the Brits turned the lights out at night to combat relentless bombing raids. Can you imagine if one of them said, "You know what? I'm going to keep the lights on. It's a personal decision. And please continue to praise me because I've donated 1% of my net worth." 🙄🙄
@JoePompliano A personal decision that affects EVERY person he comes in contact w, their families, their health & possibly ends lives Are yall okay? Do yall still not understand what pandemic means? What happens when he catches it & gets some nurse sick weren't they just heroes?
@JoePompliano But that is the problem. Getting the vaccine is not a personal decision. I got my vaccine for me, my wife, my friends, family and the community at large. It isn't a personal decision. It is a PUBLIC HEALTH matter. That makes it more than the individual.
@JoePompliano It’s sad to see him be defended as selfless for a decision that puts people he works with at risk. The janitors at the arena. Meal prep staff. His personal assistants. Him not being vaccinated puts them at risk. It’s not a personal decision. It’s a decision that affects everyone
@JoePompliano - he could kill George Floyd's mom with covid - he could kill those 9 students with covid - he could kill those 250+ kids with covid - he could kill this 250k families he provided t-giving meals - he could kill the entire WNBA with covid Do you see where I'm going with this?
@JoePompliano The thing you're missing is that it's not a "personal decision." It has a potential impact on everyone around him. If it were purely a personal matter, people would respect his privacy about it.
@JoePompliano For someone who believes in the common good, it's baffling to see someone like Kyrie not get why he needs to get vaccinated.
