A TOTAL LOSS: Fire crews worked overnight and into Tuesday morning to put out a fire at the @TxFrenchBread building on Rio Grande Street in Central #Austin. No one was injured in the fire, but crews said the building is a total loss.

TUESDAY FORECAST: A chilly and foggy start will lead to a mild afternoon with temperatures in the upper 50s and lower 60s. Expect mostly cloudy conditions along and east of I-35. A weak cold front moves in from the northeast this evening, keeping cooler temps around. #atxwx

After 7 hours fighting the fire at Texas French Bread, @austinfiredept crews tell me the fire is almost out.
They’re now monitoring hot spots & smoldering, which takes time due to the roof collapsing & there being multiple layers that could still be burning.
DENSE FOG ADVISORY: in effect until 10 a.m. for the entire KVUE viewing area. Visibility could be reduced to less than a 1/4 mile throughout the morning hours. Factor in extra time for your commute and use your low beam headlights. #atxwx#txwx
It’s devastating scene here at the Texas French Bread Bakery in Central Austin.
Fire crews say they fought the fire inside for about an hour, but had to go outside when it got dangerous.
You can see the roof collapsed, water is coming out of windows, it’s a total loss.
