@Mc420MLG @shenanigansen Too much fan service and really shit plot towards the end. While the animation is very good, it is incredibly overrated.
@Dekeloni @Mc420MLG @shenanigansen I do have to say that the second half and ending was a bit more shaky due to the loss of Kamina (that's how big that guy was). But that final battle was epic.
@MysteryCupofJoe @Dekeloni @Mc420MLG @shenanigansen I mean, that was kind of the point. Simon having to get back up and move on his own without the clearly superior Kamina backing him up. It's why at the end he's basically Kamina the 2nd.
@KingofPrinnies @MysteryCupofJoe @Dekeloni @Mc420MLG @shenanigansen "Clearly superior Kamina" you missed the point. The point of the penultimate episode is that Simon has already outgrown and surpassed Kamina and hadn't even realized it because he spent his life living in the dude's shadow. He literally outgrows Kamina and they point it out.
@KaijuUltimax @MysteryCupofJoe @Dekeloni @Mc420MLG @shenanigansen Yes, that's why I intended the "Clearly superior Kamina" bit to be satire. I just forgot to make it obviously satire... It's a story about fighting for survival, of loss, and moving on. Heck, what do people think Simon's driller analogy is supposed to be?
@KaijuUltimax @KingofPrinnies @Dekeloni @Mc420MLG @shenanigansen I felt that Simon got out of Kamina's shadow and find his own bearings. Did he surpass Kamina? I would say more finding his own voice. The main stars still needed that image/ghost/spirit of Kamina to motivate them again and say, "Shine on your in your own special light."
