2022 Green Bay Packers Salary Cap - 1/23/22 🟪Right Now ($42.4M over) 🟧Start of free agency ($58.5M over) 🟨After the draft ($61.1M over) 🟦Start of season ($71.3M over) ⚠️Includes signing the current practice squad, ERFAs, RFA, and Draft - No UFAs, extensions, restructures
@KenIngalls Aaron Rodgers alone could clear $41million of that alone?
@KenIngalls Trading Rodgers and trading/cutting both Smiths saves $48.4m if pre 6/1 designations. Where do they need to be to tag and trade Adams?
@KenIngalls @PeteDougherty Bold prediction #1: Aaron Rodgers will play (willingly) for a lot less money. The question is whether GB wants him. I suspect the answer is different from Gutey vs. LaFleur. Bold prediction #2: Necessary restructures will happen to buy time till when cap increases.
@KenIngalls The number is high and you need everyone to be willing to help the cap moves. That said, could a Rodgers extension, Ja extention, and Zadarius cut/trade slash most of the cap overage?
@KenIngalls What kind of dead cap would Rodgers have if they did indeed trade him?
@KenIngalls @PeteDougherty If you want to win more. Get more pieces. Take pay cuts to get said pieces. Millionaires will be set for an age. If you want to win, both players and office need to realize that and pay the price.
@KenIngalls All I heard all year is “sign the man” we ain’t the Rams. We don’t trade the next 5-7 years for the now. That’s stupid. Clearly going for it this year didn’t work. But you don’t keep digging a deeper hole
