His new purchase was unable to deal with the blaze.

Illustrative sentences from Sanders 'Dialect of Kent' for POTTHERY - to be in a muddled state.
"Since I put the chickens in their new run they have been real potthery. Just like some humans they be, don't like being changed around to new places, not as I blames 'em either!"
#OTD 1937 Fagging at St. Lawrence College, #Ramsgate, to be curtailed next term.
New rules state no boy shall be fagged more than ten minutes at a time, and fagging duties confined to serving the school rather than individuals.

They were caught by a pier watchman who took the cards and the 'working capital' - two halfpennies. Placed on probation for 12 months.
Found a short interview with Dr David Hornsby from the University of Kent about Kentish Dialect from a couple of years ago. Interesting comments about outside influences on the dialect both in the past and more recently.
