People of course found ways around it but the QR code acted as a “hall pass” to go to and from work. Alarming to use tech like this. Track every move. Glad we didn’t have that here

@FiorellaIsabelM I was following the story while there was a “segment of people in independent media” who were championing the lockdowns claiming anything else was for Wall St. while average people were being crushed and places like Russia, China and Australia were cracking down on basic rights.

@FiorellaIsabelM It was alarming how quickly they rolled the program out. May of 2020, maybe even April. To implement something that quickly on a population that size, it had to have already been in place. Russia was one of the first to adopt tech to track people. We didn’t even have that here…

@FiorellaIsabelM Russia rolled out the QR codes prior to the vaccine. It was to limit and track movement. People were not allowed to travel anywhere except to work and home (and errands such as grocery). Police would stop people checking their passes.
