I’ve seen a ton of opinions on the current state of #NHL22 gameplay. Whether you like it or not, this is what we were given to work with this year. You can either hope for a patch/update or you can start adapting your play style.
@TheOohwayy Could be wrong here but it seems like a lot of great players in 21 are just having troubles early on adapting to the new game, and take out their frustrations instead of being patient. I sucked ass at the beginning of 20 and 21, takes a few weeks to get it down for me usually.
@Burnsyx95 @TheOohwayy They increased defensive ability by making interceptions better, Bumping better and trips are almost non existent. Offensively they made passing and receiving passes worse. Increased defense. Decreased offense. RNG increased. Horrible for the game from a competitive standpoint.
@Luigii_X @TheOohwayy I think that increases the skill gap overall personally. Last year the passing was laser fast and you didn't have to worry much about forces, this year is completely different and you need to use the saucer effectively if you want to hit tricky passes. There were also issues with
@Burnsyx95 @TheOohwayy Anything that makes defense easier does not increase skill gap. They nerfed the speed wingers with caps on speed traits this year which is fine but you can’t nerf offensive ability and buff defensive ability and think it’s good for the state of the game.
@Luigii_X @TheOohwayy I think the skill gap is increased in the fact that you need to be smarter to enter the zone and be dangerous offensively. Both teams now get penalized the same for mistakes they make and the game punishes you more for dumb passes. There's an emphasis on making smart plays imo
@Luigii_X @TheOohwayy I think last year was too random with the interceptions, you essentially needed your skate in front of your opposition's stick if you really wanted to block a pass. You have much more freedom to take risks now while still staying in the passing lane, I think it's great for aggro
@Burnsyx95 @TheOohwayy I have no problem with interceptions being better than last year. They were ok but not great. But last year it made you decide whether or not to take the pass or attack the puck. This year you can do both. Makes defending easier/reducing skill gap.
