Today our national debt is 100 times larger than it was in 1965—nearly $32 TRILLION. For the first time, our national debt is now equal to the size of our entire economy.
One of the biggest drivers is so-called entitlement spending—programs like Social Security and Medicare—which make up more than 70% of our national budget. Medicare has 5 years before it’s insolvent. Social Security has 10 years if we’re lucky.
We owe the American people and your generation bold leadership and a better deal. All it takes is a little courage, and leaders with integrity!
@Mike_Pence This is another instance of the right protecting the entitlements programs for very rich which never show up in a budget because these Are saving to the rich that show up later as contributions to the GOP rather than corporate freeloading or taking from those in real need.
@Mike_Pence Social Security was boosted once before. Two $trillion for companies and the rich, but, no, must cut retirement of the working middle class. You are abominable.
@Mike_Pence #raiseTheCap and help Social Security remain solvent. There's something wrong when you and I pay the same amount into the system.
@Mike_Pence It is true that many are called but few are chosen. Medicare had it all unto another field of fire service. We are building a better world with safe to indulge in our habitations. Social security was intense to cease all other powers. More Grace
@Mike_Pence Social Security is NOT an entitlement!!! That is my money, that you took from me. Not only that I’m taxed on it twice!!!! Medicare the same …. Why don’t you have a look at my paystub??
@Mike_Pence It's time the congress pay back the money they borrowed from social security.
@Mike_Pence Mike, Your healthcare and pension are unearned entitlements.
