Why don’t more kids ride their bikes to school? Hmm, maybe because drivers won’t stop parking in the bike lane. @NrinderWard3 heading into Bike Month, would love to see some enforcement here from @HamOntParking. Happens every day in front of Adelaide Hoodless.
@big_cx_guy @HamOntParking Ugh! I see it often and always approach the drivers letting them know where they could be parking instead. My office will flag it again for enforcement.
@NrinderWard3 @big_cx_guy @HamOntParking Councillor, unfortunately Hamilton's streets are basically all unsafe for users of bikes and mobility devices (including our separated bikeways which fail in design at every intersection). The transportation operations department needs to be completely overhauled.
@NrinderWard3 @big_cx_guy @HamOntParking May I suggest it's not a parking problem but a public safety issue and traffic impeding? @HamiltonPolice should enforce the HTA. Everyone says they care about child safety until it involves automobiles. Then there's all kinds of reasons why they can die on the road.
@NrinderWard3 @big_cx_guy @HamOntParking Perhaps police could spend less time on speed enforcement along Burlington St/Nicola Tesla Blvd (which I see 2X a week) & focus on streets that actually have pedestrians/cyclists on them? Why are they spending so much time on a street that has ZERO pedestrian-interaction? #HamOnt
@NrinderWard3 It’s a new school year and people are once again parking in these lanes. I’ve counted at least 5 in the last 2 weeks. Can this be flagged again?
