As inflation soars to 5.4% - meaning a fall in real wages - it's worth bearing in mind that British workers have already suffered the longest squeeze in their wages since the early 19th century - in fact, since the defeat of Emperor Napoleon.
@OwenJones84 Imagine what inflation would look like if the socialists got in😂😂😂
@OwenJones84 Time for the UK to rejoin the EU Single Market and Customs Union.
@OwenJones84 I wrote to my MP about the cost of living crisis, reintroducing the uplift for those in benefits, and the rule breaking at Downing Street. All I received in return was a waffley and scripted answer. They don't give a flying f***
@OwenJones84 Which Napoleon (I or III)? Either way that fact is very depressing
@OwenJones84 It’s also worth bearing in mind we got paid for sitting on our arses for 7 months.
@OwenJones84 British workers are complicit in voting this government in. What does that say for the British worker. A ex friend who runs a Tool making factory was in favour of Brexit citing Farage and praise for Johnson. He laid off 20 out of 40 employees last Jan. Not heard from him since.
@OwenJones84 Mm… and under what govt has this taken place? The Brexit loving govt the far left supported that’s who. I think wages were going up between 97 and 2007.
@OwenJones84 @mconway70 And highest inflation since tories were last in
@OwenJones84 @OshGantly and pensioners triple lock switched off (allegedly temporarily).
