This should have been game. The defense did their part, yet again, in the most crucial moment. Give me an upcoming era of Packers football led by an aggressive defense like this that fears absolutely no one. Keep investing in the defense, Gutekunst. Defense wins championships.
The core pieces are there for this defense and they’re incredibly young. The future, as unknown as it is, is clearly not without hope or an identity to continue to build upon.
In a strange way, it’s almost comforting that it wasn’t the Packers’ defense that lost them a postseason game to the 49ers this time. At least the script was different and the defense brought a bit of respect back, even in a losing effort.
And if certain things unfold, some of which are inevitable, the Packers will need to lean on their defense moving forward more than they have in a long time. So at least it seems like they’ll be up to the task.
@PackersHistory1 Gary, Clark, Stokes, Savage, Campbell, Douglas, Black, Alexander. That’s a good core.
