@Chicago_NFL So wait. Why would u take that trade if some of the other players weren’t ready to engage? The longer u wait also puts pressure on other GMs to meet your demands. Draft day is when u have optimum leverage. Why would u take a NEVER BEFORE early trade of #1 giving up leverage?
@Pitchforks222 @Chicago_NFL They get an offer in early March that is as good as any offer you would expect to get on draft day. Sure you could have played a game to try and squeeze for another pick or whatever, but at what risk. The March offer might not be there on draft day for a variety of reasons.
@cjzandbergen @Chicago_NFL And many others may have presented themselves. He could have just used that offer as an outlier & put it in his pocket. All I’m saying is he took the best offer when all the teams weren’t even ready to engage. 6 weeks is a long time for teams to fall in love with a QB
@Pitchforks222 @cjzandbergen @Chicago_NFL 6 weeks is also I long time for teams to get cold feet.
@brendonmorgan13 @cjzandbergen @Chicago_NFL Draft day is also the last day to address a QB need & hopefully acquire a franchise QB. So, in 6 weeks Hou, Indy, Char & Tenn among others are going to get cold feet and abandon wanting to trade up for a QB? Highly unlikely. If anything that deadline would increase urgency
@Pitchforks222 @brendonmorgan13 @cjzandbergen @Chicago_NFL Almost assuredly they would
