Identity has no intrinsic value. Identity must be fully instrumental to what you want to do, it's a costume to be worn and changed as needed. Unconditional identity is a spiritual disability, it has no claim to moral value, it obscures the conscious perception of the human mind.
@Plinz What is Identity? I find it confusing that you call it an instrument to achieve what I want. I would intuitively rather have described it as the source of what I want. I would have said that my identity is tied to my values and needs.
@Plinz I’m surprised by this! If consciousness is the story we tell ourselves, wouldn’t identity be a set of perceived facts that are consistent in that story? This persistence gives some overlap that we can use as a set of axioms to collaboratively reason with others
@Plinz In the purest sense, "identity" is language. That being so, it is difficult to describe using language. "Thing" is a strong root identity for an ontology, for example. We know what "thing" is, but we can't easily describe it.
