Michelle flags the major issue of developers & investors receiving government funding to build homes for diverse living situations, only to turn those units into market housing shortly after: It’s continuing to add housing to the market that people can’t even afford/access."

"We had a gentleman come to our Centre last week. He was 70 yrs old. And he was not allowed in one of the shelters here for 3 days and slept on the streets. I don’t know how he managed to sleep on the streets in this temp. I personally would have frozen to death."

"I have been completely struck by the need for diverse services as compared to even 20 years ago, & the incredible gap in services for people who are multiple-barriered, marginalized, experiencing housing issues and complex needs." Michelle names underfunding as a huge barrier.
