Is it just me that hates the phrase "research outputs" -- "outputs" always reminds of the charts you have to keep with very new babies. I know we use it to cover a huge range of activities, but no-one ever goes home and says "Good news, I had an output accepted today"

@martinmbauer We invigilate our own physics exams with support from others in the department. If there’s an error/problem in the paper we correct and announce to the room at the time. Not all universities in the UK are the same and the process you describe seems odd.

Looked at the claim a young person will spend 24 years on a benefit. This is strictly true if you are talking about a very specific benefit. The problem is that only about 0.5% of beneficiaries and 3.6% of "young pple" on a benefit get that benefit. nzherald.co.nz/nz/politics/gr…

Let me just say that I have known a fair number of fighter pilots, and I have great respect and affection for fighter pilots, but ... a lot of fighter pilots are kind of crazy.
