@SashaGusevPosts @stuartjdneil @R_H_Ebright @itsmeagain4126 Why would one assume we have perfect optics on the earliest cases, especially given presymptomatic and asymptomatic transmission?
@PrometheusCHT @stuartjdneil @R_H_Ebright @itsmeagain4126 Anything is possible. But let's say the earliest known cases were localized to the WIV in December and not the wet market, and someone wrote a thread that said animal-human transition happened in August and August precedes December. What would you think of that claim?
@SashaGusevPosts @stuartjdneil @R_H_Ebright @itsmeagain4126 There's still opacity. One wouldn't precisely know who/what/when was patient zero. Albeit, the math seems to support Richard's claim.
@PrometheusCHT @stuartjdneil @R_H_Ebright @itsmeagain4126 This isn't really responding to my question. In the hypothetical, if someone wrote a thread about the key facts of covid origins and omitted that the earliest known cases were traced to the WIV, would you think they were an honest broker discussing this in good faith?
@SashaGusevPosts @stuartjdneil @R_H_Ebright @itsmeagain4126 There is no error of omission in Richard's thread. You've got it backwards.
@PrometheusCHT @stuartjdneil @R_H_Ebright @itsmeagain4126 How so? The thread omits established facts around the earliest cases in Wuhan, which are obviously relevant COVID origins. In subsequent discussions, Prof. Ebright is seemingly unable to comprehend why early cases in Wuhan are even relevant.
@SashaGusevPosts @stuartjdneil @R_H_Ebright @itsmeagain4126 Such as? I think you might be amiss on the definition of a fact. Under this much uncertainty, you ought to be adding much greater error bars to your claims.
@PrometheusCHT @stuartjdneil @R_H_Ebright @itsmeagain4126 Such as the fact that a large number of the earliest known COVID cases have been traced to the wet market and none to the WIV.
@SashaGusevPosts @stuartjdneil @R_H_Ebright @itsmeagain4126 Who said it has to be WIV. WCDC is across the road from the wet market. Seems you're making errors of omission now.
@PrometheusCHT @stuartjdneil @R_H_Ebright @itsmeagain4126 Points #6-9 in Prof. Ebright's thread are all about the WIV, if you're shifting the conspiracy over to the WCDC instead, Prof. Ebright should correct his thread.
@SashaGusevPosts @PrometheusCHT @stuartjdneil @itsmeagain4126 By definition, an accident cannot be a "conspiracy." Persons who use the term "conspiracy theory" to describe the possibility of accidental release reveal themselves to be unable to read, unable to reason, or--as for troll who denies Aug-Nov precede Dec--uninterested in truth.
@R_H_Ebright @PrometheusCHT @stuartjdneil @itsmeagain4126 Is that so? I think it's quite common to describe people conspiring to act recklessly in secret and these actions resulting in a harmful accident as a "conspiracy".
