Retweet if you believe we need a nationwide ban on assault weapons.
@SenDuckworth As a Marine Corps veteran, I know we need a nationwide ban on assault weapons.
@SenDuckworth @67anddumped We need an education campaign to teach the public the difference between an assault weapon wound and common firearm wound. Most of the public doesn't understand the difference in trauma caused. It will build support.
@SenDuckworth @twittinsusan If there was a national referendum on assault weapons they would be banned. We are not free if we have to live in fear.
@SenDuckworth @MuellerSheWrote The 1994-2004 Assault Weapons ban was highly effective. The Supreme Court ruled that it didn't violate the 2nd Amendment, because militia members can still use an AR-15 (all they have to do is join the National Guard). What more do we need?
@SenDuckworth The only way to get it through is to ban New Sales.
@SenDuckworth Except for police, government agents, and private security.
@SenDuckworth Ban assault weapons and high capacity magazines and institute a nationwide buy back program. That includes police forces as well. We want these things well and truly gone.
