Tomorrow, the Senate is going to be casting an enormously important vote about whether we preserve the foundations of democracy. As of now, two Democrats will join the Republicans to vote against us and we will lose that vote. Let me tell you why I hope they change their minds.
@SenSanders We need to remember just how much things have changed. In addition to supporting various voting rights reforms that no GOP support today, GOP presidents including Nixon, Ford and Sen. Howard Baker all supported full House and Senate representation for DC. THAT is the difference.
@SenSanders Sounds like 52 want to preserve the foundations of democracy and 48 don't.
@SenSanders Abolish the filibuster! We need voting rights
@SenSanders It shouldn't be about party yall all should try to find common ground to work together. For the American people.
@SenSanders But will you bother to actually show for this one?
@SenSanders If this doesn’t pass we can kiss the country the founding fathers created goodbye.
@SenSanders Sinema & Manchin are getting ready to go down in infamy. People say Dems have to get tougher. I think Biden also needs to get tougher on Sinema and Manchin. He should book time and give a speech night after night, explaining the filibuster, and explaining that it is due to those 2
@SenSanders First you shouldn't have been the person to argue this. And you shouldn't have fought over obvious no win terms like voter ID. Nor made an issue of the concern over not having monitors during vote Counting and instead come up with suggestions. Instead of issuing ultimatums.
@SenSanders Welcome Russian and Chinese Voters, cast your ballots! "A State may not require an individual to submit any form of identifying document as a condition of obtaining or casting an absentee ballot..." H.R.5746 Sec 311(a)(2)(A)
