THREAD: If the United States wants to remain the superpower of the world, we must have energy independence. The Energy Independence and Security Act of 2022 will make necessary permitting reforms to ensure we can produce the cleanest possible energy for ourselves & our allies.
Over the past 5 years, natural gas costs have gone up over 200%. In Europe, it's up over 1,100%. Energy has been weaponized by Putin. We can offset that by reforming our permitting process, which will put more energy into the market & bring down costs for utilities & consumers.
Whether we're building pipelines, solar farms or wind turbines, The Energy Independence and Security Act of 2022 will help us bring energy to the market faster and at a lower cost. We can't let politics get in the way of making these necessary & long-overdue reforms.
@Sen_JoeManchin No need to improve the "permitting process" by issuing more permits. Try improving it by REQUIRING those who currently possess the 10,000-ish drilling permits -- to ACTUALLY USE THEM! Instead, you want to give greedy companies even more land to hoard for what, a rainy day?
@Sen_JoeManchin Only if it is kept for domestic use. If the energy companies chase the money to Europe, we will see little advantage for the US.
@Sen_JoeManchin Energy is the answer to get us out of this recession. The new congress has to put pressure the administration. Passing a bill is the answer, no more executive orders!
@Sen_JoeManchin .@Sen_JoeManchin, shame on you & .@SenSchumer for the “dirty side deal being negotiated behind closed doors, outside of proper government process and the view of our families and communities who it will deeply impact.″ apnews.com/article/manchi…
@Sen_JoeManchin And continue to buy your coal, coal, coal…for your profit…
@Sen_JoeManchin Energy has been weaponized by the Democratic Party and you helped
@Sen_JoeManchin So how about getting some reforms in for nuclear power regulations and permitting?
