The phrase “dispatchable renewable energy” has to be one of the “great oxymorons of our time”, says Sky News host Chris Kenny. skynews.com.au/opinion/chris-…
@SkyNewsAust The phrase “sky news” has to be one of the great oxymorons of our time. #MurdochGutterMedia
@SkyNewsAust "Sky News" beats it by a long way in the oxymoron stakes. A portion of renewable energy will always be dispatched immediately. The rest needs storage. The amount is known for the NEM. At 95% renewables 5 h/120GWh At 100%, 20 h/450GWh PHES best option as per Qld plan.
@SkyNewsAust I wasn't sure what it was so I googled it. "Dispatchable generation refers to sources of electricity that can be programmed on demand at the request of power grid operators" I still have no idea what renewable despatchable energy is, has anyone got the answer? 🤔
@SkyNewsAust despatchable taxpayer money is what albo/bowen mean
@SkyNewsAust “Renewable Energy” is one of the biggest misnomers of our time, should be “Unreliable Energy”
@SkyNewsAust I still remember how the environment movement forced companies like McDonald's to move from paper to plastic (save the trees). Didn't work out well and we now have a worse world for it Now they want un- recyclable material like solar panels, batteries, and wind farms... bad
