10 lowest pressures I've personally recorded in cyclones, updated with new No. 4 #FIONA. Notice it *just* edged out mighty PATRICIA. But of the two, PATRICIA was way more intense: its tiny core meant *extreme* pressure gradients & much stronger winds than anything FIONA produced.
@iCyclone Was it accurate to say Patricia was 200mph at its' peak? I was never too sure back then lol.
@SurfingMoonWolf The NHC's official report indicates 185 knots (215m mph.) Yes, it is accurate-- it was measured by recon. It was not that strong when it made landfall.
@iCyclone That's incredible to have witnessed, at least over The Internet (never in person lol) a hurricane over 200 mph O_O! Yeah, I heard it weakened tremendously before encountering land, which if I remember correctly, it hit a area near mountainess terrain & a low populated area?
@iCyclone And thank you for all you do 😀👍! Funny story, I remember before I had The Internet in 2001, I used to watch The Weather Channel for HOURS just to wait for their "Tropical Update" and vividly remember watching Michelle & Iris that year & my love for Tropical Cyclones has been
@iCyclone intact since then 😂👍. Oh, did you hear about Typhoon Noru? Rapid intensification and one of my Twitter friends lives in The Philippines so I HOPE she isn't in the way of it. Philippines, no strangers to Typhoons, will be hit hard, sadly ☹.
